
Dorothy Joan Tinch 81, passed away on October 31st, 2015 in Indianapolis. Dorothy was born on February 24, 1934 in Jasonville, Indiana where she grew up. She was the wife of Sanford “Bud” Tinch Jr. who preceded her in death on July 23, 2015. They were married for 61 years.
Dorothy was a stay at home mom, raising her children in Lawrence, IN. She loved taking care of kids so once hers were grown she began nannying for several families in the area. One of Dorothy’s favorite past times was playing games, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and participating in Eastern Star and the Daughter’s of the Nile in her free time. She was a regular in bowling leagues, most recently at Hindel Bowl, where she served as secretary. Dorothy was dedicated to serving with her Golden Rule Lodge working in several offices including Worthy Matron. She also attended Christian’s United Church in Indianapolis.
Dorothy loved life and people and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her sisters, Patsy Reynolds, Virginia “Skip” Brewer, Nancy Field and brother Mike Wesnidge. She was preceded in death by Elizabeth “Tish” Hakes, a sister.
Dorothy is also survived by her children, Bob Borff (Nancy); Sanford W. ‘Buddy” Tinch III (Debbie); Shelley W. Hendrix (Rob); David Joe Tinch (Toni); Brenda J. Hamrick (John); Beverley S. McQueary (Terry); and Douglas P. Tinch (Susan).
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren who loved Dorothy. They are Staven Tinch, Sorsha Tinch, Katie (Hendrix) Metz, Jessica (Hendrix) Mattax, Cassie (Hendrix) Green, Alisha (Hamrick) Stokes, Alex Hamrick, Adam McQueary, Amanda McQueary, and Mason Tinch. She also had six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Fall Creek Wesleyan Church, 11721 Olio Road, Fishers, IN 46037 at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 7th.
